Just this Moment
Does anything ever truly make sense?
What dots are we meant to connect?
What purpose are we to derive?
What lessons are we to learn?
What are we to make of anything?
What are we to make of everything?
The senseless wars,
The calamitous natural disasters,
Loss of countless lives
Unbearable personal losses
Nothing makes sense anymore
Fate, Time, Destiny...
Nothing offers solace anymore.
Maybe there are no hidden patterns,
No great Karmic revelations,
No patterns to unfold,
No method in all this madness,
Just random things, all happening...
All around us
And so much onto us
To keep looking for a purpose,
To make sense of things...
To look for some light in our shroud of darkness,
To find melody in the deafening silences...
Maybe this only leads to more grief
Maybe this only leads to spiralling down
Maybe this just cripples us
When all we imagined was
That difficult lives should have happy endings
Alas, it appears not so.
So, here we stand, broken, fragmented, incomplete...alone...
Maybe all we can do
And all we have to learn to do
Is live just one day at a time
Live one moment at a time
Just the Present...not the Past...not the Future
Just be present...just this moment...
For ourselves...for others around us...
Just being good and being kind
To others and to ourselves
For we never know when things end
Just this one moment...
That is all Life is
Just this Moment
